Devil's Violin Virtuoso
The most celebrated violin virtuoso at the end of 18th and the start of 19th century was an Italian, Niccolo Paganini. Owing to frequent indulgence in gambling, he brought himself to a situation where he couldn't afford to buy even a violin. He was a composer too, but this aspect was overshadowed by his genius as a player. Paganini was believed to have had a pact with the devil because of his public appearances and masterful playing. This was why he was refused to be buried in the churchyard when he died in 27th May 1840.
