Another Endangered Bear Species
Asiatic black bears are called moon bears because of the 'crescent moon' found on their chest. They inhibit in the high altitude forests ranging from Pakistan to Japan. They can swim and climb trees easily although they are about four to six feet tall and weights to four hundred and fifty pounds. The population of these bears has come down to mere sixteen thousand because they were being caged for extracting their bile juice regularly for Chinese medicines. China, Russia and North Korea have the biggest farming of moon bears.
